Heads vs. Feds: The Debate over Legal Marijuana will take place at 7 p.m. March 16 in Jesse Auditorium. The event is free to students with a student ID and $10 for the public.

There will be two people debating from opposite viewpoints. Steve Hager, editor in chief of High Times magazine and long-time marijuana legalization activist, is representing the pro-marijuana side of the debate. Bob Stutman is a retired special agent of the New York division of the DEA, and he will be arguing against marijuana legalization.

Nicholas Lang, senior speaker chair for the department of student activities, said each side will be given a chance to bring the facts for and against the issue of legal marijuana and educate the audience on the possible changes that will occur if it is legalized and what will happen if it isn’t.

“The debate will discuss a huge, hot topic issue that could have serious economic, sociological and public health ramifications,” Lang said. This debate is one of the most prevalent of our time, and it will be fueled by audience input.
