Put your best foot forward for career fairs this week

On Wednesday, Feb. 25, from noon to 4 p.m., two career fairs will be held at the Reynolds Alumni Center: the Agriculture and Life Sciences Career Fair and the Hospitality Career Fair.
More than 39 businesses and organizations will be participating in the Agriculture and Life Sciences Career Fair. Students interested in the agriculture or life sciences fields can meet with employers who will be offering full-time and internship positions.
Students who are attracted to a hospitality career can attend The Hospitality Career Fair. It will consist of more than 14 organizations students can visit. These employers are also offering full-time and internship positions in many hospitality areas such as event planning and management.
“I think it is important for students who are seeking internships and full-time positions to attend career fairs, because the employers who attend are usually very interested in hiring Mizzou students,” said Stephanie Chipman, director of CAFNR career services. “In addition, career fairs are a great way to meet knowledgeable and helpful contacts to begin building a professional network and a way to explore a variety of career fields.”
Chipman suggests that students have several copies of their resumes ready to give prospective employers and that they dress professionally.
