Students of the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (CAFNR) were able to take a break from the books, kick back, and spend a night with friends at the 2011 Fall CAFNR Night Out. Galactic Fun Zone in Columbia, Mo., was hopping with MU CAFNR students bowling, eating pizza, playing laser tag, and mingling with friends. CAFNR Night Out was held on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Student Council provided members with delicious pizza from Pizza Hut. Galactic Fun Zone has an arcade, bowling alley and laser tag.

“It is definitely a unique event to interact with others,” said Shelby Huber, freshman CAFNR Student Council member. “The activities at Galactic Fun Zone require teamwork, such as bowling or laser tag, which will require CAFNR to grow stronger.”
About 40 students attended the night out. Student Council is happy to be able to host such a fun event to bring CAFNR students together.

“CAFNR Student Council likes to collaborate with all students and organizations in CAFNR because we want more student involvement,” said Jana Haley, CAFNR Student Council president. “We want to provide students with a family atmosphere. This is a great way to take a break from studying and hang with friends that share a common interest.”
This was CAFNR’s first time holding their night out at Galactic Fun Zone. CAFNR Student Council organizes one night out event per semester, and usually the fall event is a hayride.
“Instead of continuing the hayride, we decided to try something new to boost participation,” said Christopher Hudson, sophomore member of CAFNR Student Council. “This event gives everyone a chance to come together and meet fellow CAFNR students. I hope students will continue to come in the future; we will probably continue this event at Galactic Fun Zone.”
As the night came to a close, there was already talk of next semester’s event.
“This was so much fun,” Huber said. “I can’t wait to see what Student Council plans in the spring.”
