Meet Breanne Brammer
by Maggie Hardwick, posted Sept. 19, 2011

This year’s Corner Post staff has an array of impressive talents and Breanne Brammer is no exception to this statement.

Breanne Brammer, a freshman science and agricultural journalism major, grew up in Gallatin, Mo. Coming from a hobby farm and being surrounded by animals, Brammer knew science and agricultural journalism would be a wonderful fit.

“I’ve always had a passion for agriculture,” Brammer said “Choosing Mizzou was a no brainer.”

Brammer’s passion for agriculture shines through in every aspect of her life. In high school she competed in FFA speaking events, showing cattle, and rodeos, among many other activities. She considers her greatest achievement to be winning the 2010 state sheep producer’s speaking competition. However, much of her focus is an outward pouring of support.

“You have to help others become successful before you can be successful,” Brammer said. In her hometown, Brammer started a coat drive with her FBLA chapter for kids in need, collecting about 500 coats. She also spent many hours volunteering for Meals on Wheels, which delivers meals to people in need.

Besides helping others and pushing herself in competition, Brammer also enjoys a variety of other activities. She likes baking, flower arranging, reading (preferably in her hammock), dressing up, and arts and crafts.

Brammer has a loving family standing behind her to support her on her way to reaching her high goals. Her family consists of a mother, a father, a younger brother, and her corgi dog.

The quote, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,” by Eleanor Roosevelt, is the phrase Brammer lives by and uses as inspiration to keep her striving towards her goals.

Brammer hopes to graduate with a degree in science and agricultural journalism and a minor in international agriculture. She then hopes to go on to law school. She always sets her goals high and hopes to one day become Missouri’s leading politician and the state’s first woman governor.
