MU online horse auction ends Nov. 12

by Hannah Riddle, posted Oct. 26, 2009
The MU Equine program is holding an online horse auction Nov. 1 through Nov. 12. Potential buyers can visit the auction Web site, view information about each horse and place their bid—all online.

A preview sale was held Nov. 7 at Mizzou’s equine science facility located on the University South Farm.

The horses for sale in the auction were all raised at the facility. Each year, students train the horses for a semester before the sale in the fall.

“All horses are easy to catch, lead and tie quietly, and stand to be groomed,” said Marci Crosby, MU equine science instructor.

Horses for sale this year range from weanlings to older horses of many colors and builds. The MU horse auction has a variety of horses to interest buyers.
According to the MU Equine Web site, “all horses are sold with complete medical records, and detailed daily training journals of each horse’s training journey.”

If interested in bidding on a horse, the online auction continues until 7 p.m. Nov.12.
