Little American Royal promotes
livestock literacy
a multimedia project by Lauren Dye, Sami Jo Freeman, Annette Jenkins and Sean O'Brien, posted Nov. 20, 2009
Block and Bridle hosted its annual Little American Royal on Oct. 10 at Trowbridge Livestock Arena on the MU campus. The Little American Royal helps promote agricultural literacy as well as helps students who have never raised livestock before understand how to care for an animal before showing it. Less experienced exhibitors and their animals are placed with a more experienced exhibitor to be taught how to take care of the animal until show time. The exhibitors show the animal and are judged based on the effectiveness of their demonstration.
