Tigers look to snap losing streak at Nebraska

The No. 4 ranked Missouri Tiger are to face their first road test of the season Saturday against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
After 30 years of rejection at the hands of the Cornhuskers in the state of Nebraska, this Tiger squad looks to snap that record.
“It’s 2008 and the 2008 Missouri Tigers and the 2008 Nebraska Cornhuskers and all the history stuff doesn’t really matter…it comes down to playing football,” said wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.
For some Tigers, the past experiences in Lincoln, Neb. don’t fade away.
“I’m not sure if you draw on it for motivation but its always in the back of your mind,” said quarterback Chase Daniel about the previous games in Neb.
It wont just be tradition that will get in the way of a Tiger victory the weekend. The Cornhuskers have made many improvements under new coach Bo Pelini.
“Nebraska is very disciplined and well coached. Quarterback Joe Ganz is very good at reading defenses and very impressive,” Head Coach Gary Pinkel said, “Bo Pelini is the best in the business and his defenses are always very physical and play with lots of energy.”
To help the Tigers overcome these obstacles, they will look to their own strengths in order to win.
“The guys we have now change things…they are fighters and competitors and mature guys the focus on football,” said senior free safety William Moore.
Missouri is also coming off a bye week and has been able to spend more time concentrating on the Huskers.
“The bye week was good cause we had more time to break down the Nebraska film and see all the alignments they have,” said strong safety Justin Garrett.
The football team has a large test this weekend and although the Tigers are favored to win, anything could happen. The Tigers will look to battle hard against Nebraska at 8 p.m.
