Burgers were flying off the grill as Ag Econ Club, BBQ Team, Fermentation Club and Food Science Association hosted a barbecue dinner in conjunction with the CAFNR Week mud volleyball tournament.

Volleyball participants and spectators go through the serving line between games. The clubs served 80 meals by the end of the night. |
The dinner began at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, at Bradford Farm. Hamburgers, baked beans, chips, cookies and drinks were served for $5 a plate. Each club split the expenses and shared the profits accordingly. Ag Econ Club used this event to raise money for their scholarship program.
The dinner was considered a success, and at the end of the night 80 meals were served.

“The BBQ was a good way to get involved in CAFNR Week as well as providing funding for our scholarship program,” said Katie Jarboe, CAFNR student.
This was Fermentation Club’s first time participating in CAFNR Week. Steve Monson, Fermentation Club president, explained that the club is not exclusive to CAFNR students and that CAFNR Week is a good way for the club to “attract attention for food science.”
