Flavors of BBQ

Gaucho’s
This is a great place for a date and even better for girl’s night out. Gaucho’s serves southern Brazil barbecue. The meat is cooked over an open fire on a skewer that resembles a sword. The food is fantastic though you don’t get a whole lot for your money. Dessert is the exception with hefty servings of four types of chocolate creations and tiramisu among other decadent treats. The building is really spacious and there is plenty of elbowroom at the tables. There is also a pool table area and after 9:30 p.m. a strong, fun bar atmosphere.

Bandana’s Bar-B-Q
Good cookin’! You would never know this is a chain restaurant. They are known for their shredded pork sandwiches and unique barbecue sauces. Another absolute must is their garlic toast, which comes with most dishes and is truly delicious. The platters are full and the price is low. The atmosphere is like walking into the neighborhood hangout complete with seating in booths, friendly personal service with lots of smiles and checkered curtains. Bandana’s also caters and is just as good in a bag as it is fresh from the kitchen.

CC’s City Broiler
This downtown restaurant is a taste of upscale Columbia. The main entrees of the potential four courses include steak, veal, lamb and fish with all the trimmings. The salads that prepare for the fantastic meal look like something off a gourmet TV show. Dessert is just as fancy and rich. The waiters wear button-downs and black pants, candles flutter above the white tablecloth, and whether you sit inside or out, this is a fantastic place to celebrate.
