John Deere and New Holland tractors sat quietly in front of Memorial Union on the MU campus as they awaited gazes from students. After a hiatus, the Little Ag Expo is back!
“This is an event that has been done during CAFNR Week in years past; however, it has been absent from the week's activities for a year or two,” said Rachel Bartholomew, a member of the CAFNR Week Steering Committee. “[We] decided to do the Little Ag Expo as a way to spread the word about CAFNR to the entire University. In years past, the publicity of CAFNR Week has not reached other departments and colleges. To encourage more participation this year, we are offering a free meal … to students who visit four booths or more.”

Booths lined a portion of Lowry Mall showcasing CAFNR clubs and organizations.
“This event is a good chance to tell students about agriculture” said Ryan Niemeyer, president of the Collegiate Farm Bureau.
Katie Voelker, president of Block and Bridle, agrees.
“I think this event has been successful in spreading the word about agriculture,” Voelker said.

Students who visited at least four booths at the Expo were rewarded with a free meal, left.

The event allowed students to visit club representatives and get a free lunch, which included hot dogs, chips and a drink. Junior graphic design major Christina Jackson took advantage of the event and learned a little about agriculture.
“I always want to learn something new,” Jackson said.
