One of CAFNR’s very own has made it into the top five.
Megan Fox, agribusiness management major, has the chance of
becoming the 2006 MU Homecoming Queen. “I will represent
the University in the best light, by not only promoting the
University, but also looking to actively contribute to University
activities. Most importantly I will be a proud tiger that
is honored to represent Mizzou and wear my black and gold!”
Fox said.
She was nominated by her sorority, Kappa Delta, to represent
them in the competition. “I am very honored to represent
Kappa Delta and the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural
Recourses. Mizzou has been my second “home” since
I was a freshman, she said.
“When I think of “home” I think of a place
that I feel comfortable at and are always welcomed. Mizzou
has always provided this feeling for me and I believe Homecoming
is a great opportunity to reminisce about the old days with
alumni and stay updated with what is currently going on at
Mizzou,” Fox said.
The chapter initially voted on four women to nominate for
queen. The chapter then judged each candidate. The chapter
officially nominated four girls, two of which made it into
the top five. “We chose Megan because she is a classy
individual who represents Kappa Delta exceptionally well,”
said Nancy Gabel, president of Kappa Delta. “We couldn’t
be more proud to have her representing the women of Kappa
Delta.”
Megan submitted an application and had a first round interview.
After first rounds she was selected into the top 30, the top
15 men and top 15 women. From there, each candidate had to
participate in two service projects of their choice and then
another interview. Then they narrowed it down to the top 10,
which is the top five men and top five women. From the vote,
interview scores, spirit scores and participation, a king
and queen will be announced at halftime at the MU Homecoming
Football game.
