Time
management: time on your side

Joining
a group or organization can benefit students in many ways:
networking, enjoying new experiences and having fun. Students
must distribute their time so they can get work done and have
fun also. Some students have found time management to be the
answer to this question.
Zach
Steffens, a sophomore at MU, takes 18 credit hours and works
7 hours a week. He is also involved in Volley Zou, Tiger Lair
and the Lutheran Student Fellowship group. With the help of
the calendar on Outlook, Zach has mapped out a perfect schedule.
He says none of his organizations conflict and everything
works out.
Ashley
Schlichenmayer, a junior at MU, said, “Sometimes, I
think I did too much.” She is taking 17 credit hours
and is a part of the Agronomy club, GDI and CAFNR Student
Council. She also has a job that helps her pay rent since
she lives off campus. “I was active in high school,
so I like to stay busy,” Schlichenmayer said. Sometimes
her classes conflict with her Student Council responsibilities
and has to have someone take over while she is absent. “It’s
varied. Nothing conflicts too much.”
Heather
Mino, MU senior, joined the MU Horticulture club and Alpha
Zeta Honors Fraternity while taking 13 credit hours. “I
couldn’t handle any more than this. I didn’t want
the added stress,” said Mino.
Freshman Dan Cromwell is taking 17 credit hours and is involved
in a football league and a tennis club. He said he likes what
he does, and his organizations do not take up too much time.
