The Missouri Farm Bureau Federation's Annual Meeting was held at Tan-Tar-A Resort on December 3-6 in Osage Beach.
Tyne Morgan, Lafayette County, was selected as the 2006 MFBF female ambassador. Daughter of John and Evelyn Morgan of Lexington, Mo., Morgan is currently a sophomore at MU majoring in agricultural journalism.
"I feel the biggest responsibility I will have as an ambassador is to be a symbol of not only Farm Bureau, but agriculture and people will know that youth are strongly involved in Farm Bureau," Morgan said.
Another CAFNR student, Ashley Noblitt, of Polk County, was a semi-finalist in this year's ambassador program. Noblitt is also a sophomore and is studying Agricultural Education.
Randolph County native, Sky Vanderburg, was chosen as this year's male ambassador. Senior at Moberly High School, he is the son of Dee and Lisa Vanderburg.
The Missouri Farm Bureau Federation's Ambassador Program was started in 1999. The program provides an opportunity for young leaders to represent agriculture and Farm Bureau for one year. One male and one female are selected from a field of contestants sponsored by their respective county Farm Bureau. Each ambassador will receive a $1,250 scholarship.
"Farm Bureau is the voice of agriculture, and I am ecstatic that I will be a part of that voice, helping to make it heard," Morgan said.
