The Sigma Alpha
sorority has started the 2005 school year with a record numbers
of 21 new members. This
is the largest number of new members the sorority has ever ended
recruitment week with.
“It’s nice to know we’re becoming more
well known and established on campus,” Maranda Taylor, Sigma
Alpha president said.
This brings the total member count to 51 young women.
“We had
a simply amazing recruitment week. It was better than we expected
it to be,” Taylor said.
Along with 21 new members, Sigma Alpha also added three new advisors.
Jane Loudermilk will be serving the sorority as the primary advisor,
while Dana Henke and Morgan Scheiderer will be serving the sorority
as alumni advisors.
Sigma Alpha
has several activities planned for the year. Some
of the events coming up soon are the date hayride on Oct. 8, a
representative from Monsano’s North American Seed Division
is coming to talk about future internship and career opportunities
on Oct. 11, and most recently they will be sponsoring Megan Cooper
and Adam Brinker as barnwarming candidates on Sept. 30.
