Hort
club reaches out

The MU Horticulture Club has been busy this fall and will continue
their active role in the community and on campus throughout the
school year.
The club started
off the season with a generous spirit. In
early October, members came together to pick apples to donate to
the Central Missouri Food Bank. They continued to support
the community by visiting Shyrock’s corn maze, on Oct. 21.
This year the
Hort Club will have its usual plant sales. Currently
growing in the greenhouse are poinsettias for the annual winter
sale.
“The flowers will come in a variety of colors including
pink, white, marble and the traditional red,” president Maria
Bellrose said.
Looking forward
to next semester, students can expect more plant sales. Those
looking to please their sweethearts can purchase roses during
the Valentine’s Day sale. When spring
comes, new life will blossom at the spring bedding plant sale.
