Best and Worst Valentine's Day
Jamie Reading Corner Post Staff
"I had to work one year on Valentine's Day until 11 o'clock that night.
My boyfriend at the time, lived two hours away said he wasn't going to
come up. Boy, was I surprised! When I walked out to my car after my shift,
there he was standing beside my car and one rose with the radio playing
to the first song we had danced to. We danced in the parking lot all night."
Kelly, Columbia College
"I was competing with this other guy for the same girl. I did everything
to try to get her to go out with my on Valentine's Day. I sent her a dozen
roses to work, I hand-made her a card and other various things. The other
guy didn't do anything for her. Guess who got the girl in the end. He
did."
Eric, MU Graduate
"My boyfriend was leaving for Japan for two years because he is in the
Air Force one year right before Valentine's Day. I had someone paint a
self-portrait of me and had it framed. He took it with him so he could
look at me every day he was there."
Jessica, Northwest Missouri State
"Last year for Valentine's Day my boyfriend of two months brought me a
little kitten as my present. Little did he know that I was very allergic
to cats and I was sneezing the entire rest of the night."
Jill, Northwest Missouri State
"One year for Valentine's Day, I wanted to give my girlfriend something
special. I went out a bought a locket that she had been wanting for a
long time. Inside of the locket, I had put a little note in there that
said "I love you with the date and the year on it". She still to this
day, wears it around her neck close to her heart."
