CAFNR
student announces run for MSA presidency
Michael Deering, Corner Post staff
Oct.
14, 2002 - Brett Ordnung has always found a way to exceed his
limits, give 110 percent and never look back. Today, he has taken
a step in a new direction by filing as a candidate for president
of the Missouri Students Association (MSA) in the upcoming elections.
A junior in agricultural education, Ordnung said he is a well-qualified
candidate.
Ordnung said he feels that MSA has become too political and is
not directed toward the average student. He also said MSA is a
place for students to voice their opinions, but it is not structured
to focus on the students' needs.
The candidate said his running mate, Lisa Coleman, political science
junior, complements his campaign well.
"Lisa is goal-oriented and passionate about Mizzou students,"
Ordnung said.
Ordnung and Coleman have formed a platform for the campaign that
focuses on safety, student/faculty interaction and information
sharing between MSA and students.
"Brett Ordnung has proven his dedication to CAFNR and the
student body through active involvement," Jared Verdught,
agricultural systems management major, said. "He would bring
needed change to MSA, which makes him my choice for MSA president."
