Everyone loves the Electric Slide, even if the majority
of
people have to watch his or her feet. |
Students gathered
in the Trowbridge parking lot, where buses began picking them
up at 9 p.m. and shuttling them to Nitro, a dance club outside
of Columbia.
Many students were glad they could ride a shuttle to and from
the dance.
"I was very happy that they shuttled us back and forth,"
Marcus Caldwell, ag econ major,
said. "Safety is my number one concern when it comes to parties."
Before students got off the bus and entered the dance, Study Abroad
Program Director Kurt Richter said they should not mess with the
bouncers. He joked that they were taking time off from bounty
hunting. Once inside, students received bracelets if they were
21 or older.

The song "Baby Got Back" was a favorite at
Barnwarming
2002. |
"The atmosphere
resembled that of a high school mixer for a little while,"
Dan Williams said.
Within minutes, however, the floor was packed and students danced
to everything from rap and r&b to country and southern rock.
Dancing was not the only attraction, however. The dance allowed
students to get to know new people, as well as catch up with old
friends.
"I've seen people I haven't seen since I was a freshman,"
John Rich, ag systems management major, said. "I have also
met many new, interesting people."
The dancing
was temporarily interrupted with the annual "Kissing of the
Ass." Mike Monson, professor of agricultural economics, recieived
the most student votes. As the lucky winner, he puckered up and
gave the donkey - a special guest at Barnwarmin' - a good smack
on the lips.

At 1 a.m., students climbed back on to buses to head back to Trowbridge
and bring an end to Ag Week 2002.
