Club Profile: Club Managers Association of America
By Tyne Morgan, Corner Post guest writer

An organization that provides students attending the University of Missouri-Columbia with networking and scholarship opportunities is the Club Managers Association of America, also known as CMMA.

“CMMA is very professional and into helping students succeed,” said Laura Weldon, CMMA President.
CMMA looks at the country club side of the hotel and restaurant management program. In order to do this, CMMA tours different clubs across the state, including a club in Moberly, Mo., and St.Louis.

The organization also attended the world conference this past year in New Orleans to gather various ideas and information from managers across the world.

The officer team that is leading this year’s members includes Weldon, Brandee Morris, Amanda Cook and Danelle Knipp. The advisor is Mike Keen.

CMMA currently has 23 members and are encouraging other students who are interested to join. The dues are $45 for CMMA. If you would like more information, contact President Laura Weldon at lswdg5@mizzou.edu.
