Nov. 2, 2003-Missouri did not walk away from the 2003 National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky empty-handed. Aside from the usual opportunities presented at a convention, like meeting new people and learning from workshops and the career show, Missouri FFA found success in the Career Development Events.

Troy's agricultural sales team placed first in the nation against 37 other teams in the contest. Missouri also took first in the Agricultural Mechanics-Shelbyville FFA, Agronomy-Pleasant Hope FFA, and Farm Business Management-Kingdom City FFA, CDEs.

Missouri also boasted three national proficiency award winners: Colin Woodworth-Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication, Jana Thies-Agricultural Sales-Entrepreneurship, and Alesa Raasch-Fiber and/or Oil Crop Production. This award is based on the members' supervised agricultural experience and the records kept on it.

Along with those awards, 300 Missouri FFA members received their American FFA Degree, the highest level of membership attainable in the organization.
