Ag
Week Hosts Educational Event
Linda Veatch, Corner Post Staff
September 22, 2003 - Monday, Ag students met before 9 a.m. to set up booths full
of fun stuff to learn. The MU students who worked the booths created an educational
presentation and taught the fourth graders about agriculture.
The different booths consisted of a variety of educational topics. ACT provided
a booth where the students were videotaped reading a prompt and the video was
given to their teachers. The Ag Week booth taught them about the parts of the
cheeseburger, while the Mizzou Tigers For Tigers booth informed the students
about tigers and the dangers for tigers in the world. The Agronomy club allowed
the children to plant a seed or paint a pumpkin, and the Collegiate Cattlewoman
introduced by-products from beef cows.
There were numerous other booths that kids also visited. There were three schools
whose fourth graders took part in the occasion.
