A
Night at Midway
Robert Powell, Corner Post Staff
Barbecue, beer and beauty queens met at Ag Week's final event Friday night. The
barbecue dinner at Trowbridge Arena led to the Barnwarming Dance and the naming
of the 2003 Ag Week King and Queen.
Premium Standard Farms provided the premium pork barbecue with all the
fixins,' doled out by PSF employees and CAFNR staff members. Fun, laughter
and good food
filled Ag Week attendees' stomachs and sense of adventure - as the buses to the
Barnwarming "undisclosed location." The Midway Expo Center, just outside Columbia,
hosted this year's event.
"The Barnwarming facilities were perfect for the occasion," Caleb Colbert, ag
economics, said. "It created an overall atmosphere conducive for both fun and
safety. Midway was a night of fun-filled dancing."
Though Colbert had his opinion, not everyone shared in it.
"Midway was hot, short on space, with a total lack of air flow," Zach Famuliner,
ag systems management, said.
Though there are differing opinions on this year's venue, many people
shared
sentiments of an improvement. "
It was a lot better than last year at Club Nitro," Mike Deering, ag journalism,
said.
