Students Rev Up for Road Rally Sept. 29, 2002 - As part of Ag Week 2002, College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources students participated in the Road Rally, sponsored by the Ag Systems Management club, on Sunday afternoon. The event is an automobile scavenger hunt during which teams receive clues and questions that direct them to different checkpoints along the way. Students Named Ag Week King and Queen Oct. 4, 2002 - After a week that included lip syncing, being interviewed and participating in nearly every possible event, Ben Marshall, ag education major, and Dana Henke, ag education and ag journalism double major, became King and Queen of Ag Week 2002 Friday night. Achievement Center opening delayed due to furniture confusion Sept. 1, 2002 - The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources' (CAFNR's) new student service office in the Gary Dickinson Student Achievement Center will not be occupied quite yet. Although the space itself will soon be completed, the furniture and other decorations will not be installed until late September or early October. (full story here) Computer
lab will not return to Ag basement Sept. 3, 2002 - College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) students may have to walk a bit farther to use computer labs this semester, as the familiar 1-119 and 1-120 labs in the basement of the Ag building have become the temporary home of the Academic Programs Office (APO). The space, formerly operated by Information Access and Technology Services (IATS) as a student computer lab, will be unoccupied following the APO's move to the new Gary Dickinson Student Achievement Center in early October. overdue groundbreaking Oct. 31, 2002 - A groundbreaking ceremony took place at College Avenue and Hospital Drive today to celebrate the new residence halls that are scheduled to be in use by Fall Semester 2004. week in the life of a Little American Royal participant During the week of Oct. 14, the Block and Bridle sponsored a Little American Royal to give students a chance to take care of an animal for a week and go through all the preparations for showing it. These preparations included everything from feeding the animal to bathing it. It was a showmanship competition, focusing on the calmness of the person and not the appearance of the animal. win in overtime Nov. 18, 2002 - The Missouri Tigers have played several close games this season and finally pulled one out in a 33-27 win over Texas A&M Saturday. vs. Kansas State: To bowl or not to bowl Study Abroad: The Clampetts go to Germany Nov. 28, 2002 - The Ag Systems Management club "engineered" an excursion to Germany over Thanksgiving break. It was a pioneer trip in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources' history. The original plan consisted of 15 Ag Systems Management students touring the Coburg University and various agriculture-related factories, but the trip roster exploded when it was opened up to all of CAFNR, regardless of major.
